Top Gear Moving To 9PM For Season 14

Top Gear executive producer Andy Wilman has a new blog post up. In it he explains why this season of Top Gear will air an hour later than previous seasons have:
I’ll be doing a rundown of stuff that’s coming in another blog, but first we must take care of some very important housekeeping, because for this series only, we’re moving to 9pm on November 15. We had no choice really: X Factor on at the same time with the Results Show, Cowell on storming form, the whole nation glued – we know when to bravely bugger off and wait until the storm passes.
I’ve updated the counter to reflect the new air time.
EDIT: Counter fixed for DST as well.

Yes FinalGear devotees, we not only have this (now rather dated *hint hint Viper*) homepage, we also have forums!
Chock full of threads and posts by others like YOU making the site a very handy resource. We have sections on Fifth Gear (RIP), Top Gear and a few other interesting shows. Not to mention all the shows that the hosts do when they aren’t making episodes of some our very favourite series. Heard a tune in one of the episodes you really like? We have a section on that too!
Even with so many (expected) sections, we have threads on food, entertainment and tons more, guaranteed to waste your semi-precious time from work or home or simply taking the train (wtf?) to work.
A lot of you already know about the forums, but you’d be surprised as to how many don’t, so those of you who don’t have no excuse not to sign up.

Top Gear Australia Officially Moving To Channel Nine

It was announced today the the previous rumors were true — Top Gear Australia and the Top Gear UK reruns will be moving from SBS to Channel Nine in Australia. Top Gear UK changing channels down there probably also explains the confusing mention of Clarkson in the rumors.

Top Gear Australia Changing Channels And Hosts?

It’s been a busy couple of days — first rumors of Fifth Gear getting canceled and now multiple reports that Australia’s Channel Nine has gained the rights from the BBC to do the show instead of SBS.
Rumor is that Shane Warne is being talked to to host the show as well as Jeremy Clarkson, although I have no idea how that would work.
We’ll let you know as the news comes in and thanks to everyone who sent in tips.

Fifth Gear Cancelled?

Posting this from the Quebec City airport, so this post will have to be brief.
Fifth Gear was canceled today — it will not be back according to The Daily Mail. While the show obviously wasn’t as entertaining to watch as Top Gear, it’s still a shame in my opinion.
However, Jonny Smith has been tweeting:
To answer all the tweets about Fifth Gear ending – I don’t know who the Daily Mail talked to, but nothing is official. TV is a fickle world.
FG is always compared to the big-budget epic movie monster that is TG. It can’t and won’t ever be TG. FG was always more, well, grass roots.
To be completely honest, it could be time for a fresh car TV show recipe. Right now I’m enjoying Industrial Junkie & motor journalism tho!

If one is anywhere near you, I’d recommend looking into attending. I’ve never been myself (nearest one is on the opposite side of the world from me), but from the photos and videos I’ve seen from previous years, it looks to be quite a spectacle.

Top Gear Back November 15th?

On the BBC’s Internet Blog’s post about Top Gear airing in HD this fall, the author mentioned the start date as being November 15th. Is it true? It’s hard to be sure as usually we don’t know this far out, but it sounds right (they’ve been saying mid-November all along). So assuming she’s correct, that’s just 53 days to go!
