The Australian portal of TopGear.com launched today. It has videos and umm, stuff. Actually it’s just a lot like the UK version but with less videos and more Australian-specific stuff. No mention of the Australian version of the show from what I can tell.

It seems TopGear.com has made the unfortunate decision to make the videos on their site only playable within the UK. This change is very recent as when I posted those videos yesterday, there were playable here in the USA. I sincerely hope it’s just a bug or something on Brightcove’s part (they’re the company handling the video serving for TopGear.com), but that’s probably not the case.

Looks like we’re going to have to start mirroring the videos or something so people like me who are outside of the UK can watch them.

TopGear.com has two videos of stuff that didn’t make last Sunday’s episode. The first is of Jeremy and Richard giving James a hard time after he worked all night on upgrading the car. The second is Mika Häkkinen talking about crying after a crash he had in Formula 1.

The news uncut has returned for season 12 and is now available on TopGear.com. Discussion includes wind powered cars and an Infiniti that’s coming to the UK.

TopGear.com has a short video (an outtake of sorts) of Jeremy talking about how he fell out of his seat while attempting to powerslide a semi-truck for the latest Top Gear episode. It’s nothing terribly exciting, but still funny and worth a watch.

UPDATE: The site is now live. Make sure to check out the welcome video where Andy Wilman encourages people to keep illegally downloading the show (heh). Also take a look at some of the first of their American content. The site is a bit sparse at the moment as it literally just launched, but expect more content over the next few weeks.

In a FinalGear.com exclusive, we’re pleased to announce that the US portal of TopGear.com (site not live as of this post’s time) will be launching in under an hour at 11AM EST. That is of course if it goes to plan and doesn’t end up like the UK portal which launched a week late.

I’ve seen previews of it and like it’s UK counterpart, it looks very, very good. The developers and content creators for the site have been working extremely hard on it for quite a while now and their efforts have paid off. Features include a blog, videos, and best of all — some US-specific content. It should go a long way towards spreading the Top Gear brand here in the States.

The new TopGear.com has finally launched. It features nearly 300 videos (which I’ll be setting up links to shortly so you can just stream the segments you want), new blogs, a ton of car reviews, and so much more. It also seems they want to steal users back from us (oh no!) as they’ve added guides for each episode describing what was in each episode.

But seriously, it’s a great site and worth a visit if you’re bored at work (or even if you’re not) and wanting to watch some Top Gear.

TopGear.com has video from the Top Gear Live press conference. Not a must watch, but it is interesting.
