During the off-seasons, the Top Gear hosts tour the world (minus the Americas sadly) putting on a live version of Top Gear called Top Gear Live. In South Africa, they completed this cool double loop-the-loop:
If one is anywhere near you, I’d recommend looking into attending. I’ve never been myself (nearest one is on the opposite side of the world from me), but from the photos and videos I’ve seen from previous years, it looks to be quite a spectacle.
Yes this news is from last week, but I haven’t been reading my e-mail too well lately so it slipped between the cracks. Whoops.
During a press conference for Top Gear Live in Australia, Jeremy was asked about the American version of Top Gear and if he thought it was going to be shown in Australia at all. He replied that the show had been “canned” and that us Americans “just don’t get it”. Now he may have just been referring to NBC passing on the show, but it may also be really dead. I’m not sure as Clarkson isn’t usually the most reliable when it comes to these kinds of things.
If you had been hoping to go to one of Top Gear Live‘s Dublin shows only to find that the tickets had been sold out, don’t worry — more tickets go on sale on Tuesday morning. Head on over to TopGear.com for links and phone numbers to buy tickets.
For those of you in or around Sydney, you can now get in line to get tickets to Top Gear Live. The tickets aren’t actually available yet, this will just put you on the waiting list or whatever.
If the show in Dublin is any indication of what’s to come, tickets are going to be fairly hard to come by for the Top Gear Live World Tour. According to Independent.ie, the tickets for the Dublin show sold out in just 90 minutes.
If you’re planning to go to any other of the shows, I’d suggest being on the ball when it comes to buying tickets or you may just find yourself out of luck.
Many thanks to everyone who's ripped the episodes on this site as well as Quiky and PacketCollision for being awesome sysops.
