If you don’t already know the name of the main person who portrays the Stig (we’ve had a pretty good idea for a year or two now) and actually want to know (many people prefer don’t want to), then check out this article on the Telegraph.
Yawn.

The Stig was out at Silverstone last weekend giving a ride in a two-seater F1 car to a man who had won a charity auction when Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso commented “whoever’s in that car is a seriously good driver.” He continued, “I’ve no idea who he is, but he’s definitely ex-F1.”
Good to know Stiggy’s still got it.

No, Tim Schrick Is Not One Of The Stigs

Posted May 23rd, 2008 at 08:592008-05-23T08:59:49ZF jS, Y \a\t H:i by Viper007Bond in The Stig, Top Gear
Contrary to what various automotive websites are reporting, no Tim Schrick of Germany’s D-Motor is not one of the multiple people (yes, there is more than one) who are or have played the Stig. Besides his white racing suit being a different type, he was in Belgium (along with Sabine) for a Top Gear versus D-Motor competition as mentioned by Andy Wilman earlier.

Top Gear Reference In American Newspaper Comic Strip

Posted February 25th, 2008 at 00:322008-02-25T00:32:01ZF jS, Y \a\t H:i by Viper007Bond in The Stig, Top Gear
Get Fuzzy is an daily comic strip about a guy, his twisted cat, and his naive dog.
In today’s comic, there was a reference to Top Gear, something that’s quite unusual considering it’s drawn by an American.

Yet Another “Stig Unmasked?” Post

Posted February 24th, 2008 at 07:132008-02-24T07:13:44ZF jS, Y \a\t H:i by Viper007Bond in The Stig, Top Gear
I really hesitated to post this as I personally think it’s a lot better not knowing who the Stig is and that there’s more than one person who plays the Stig. However, I also felt it was important to keep you guys in the loop without giving away “spoilers” to those who don’t want to know.
So, if you’re interested in seeing an alleged photo of (one of) the Stig’s eyes, then check out this thread on our forums.

Ben Parkinson lost his legs in Afghanistan and watched tons of Top Gear during his recovery. Jeremy heard of him and setup a day for him to spend a day with the Top Gear team.
Ben saw his hero, test driver The Stig, pull some jaw-dropping stunts in a £350,000 Ascari A10 supercar and £160,000 Aston Martin DBS at BBC2’s Dunsfold Aerodrome in Surrey.
