There’s only one real way to watch Top Gear and that’s in high definition.

(Yes this rip has subtitles inside of the file but no they are not hard-coded into the video picture. You can turn them off in your video player’s settings.)

Today’s Top Gear is here with 720p coming soon and 1080i in a day or two as usual.

While the first three episodes have been car-focused, Top Gear will be switching gears for the next two episodes and moving to more entertainment-style episodes.

Jeremy and executive producer Andy Wilman have taken to the Internet and posted a video on TopGear.com explaining the reason for the shift as well as mentioning a certain Top Gear fan website.

I for one don’t understand the dislike that some have for the more entertainment based episodes though. Okay, so I’m not a huge fan of pre-scripted events but I do like to see the hosts just goofing around and having a good time. I mean if you hosted Top Gear, isn’t that what you would end up doing half of the time anyway?

Last Sunday’s Top Gear is now available in 1080i for those who love high res.

As promised, here’s today’s episode in 720p.

For those top resolution fans, last Sunday’s Top Gear is now available in 1080i.

For all you follow Americans, the currently airing season of Top Gear (season 17) will start airing on BBC America on August 22nd. Presumably it will be like their season 15 and 16 airings which were mostly content complete (not much of anything cut other than the music). That’s less than a 2 month delay from the original airings — not bad!
