Aftermath Of Jeremy’s Truck Powersliding Attempt
_____
Posted November 5th, 2008 at 12:00 GMT by Viper007Bond in Top Gear, TopGear.com

TopGear.com has a short video (an outtake of sorts) of Jeremy talking about how he fell out of his seat while attempting to powerslide a semi-truck for the latest Top Gear episode. It’s nothing terribly exciting, but still funny and worth a watch.

New Top Gear TV Show Site Launches

While most people know about TopGear.com, the commercial website for Top Gear (the magazine, etc.), many people forget about the BBC.co.uk site. It’s the “official” site of the TV show and it has relaunched today with an all new design. Like TopGear.com, it features lots of videos (but unlike TopGear.com, these are sadly only available inside the UK) as well as guides for each episode. It also features a very handy TV schedule letting you know exactly when the next Top Gear rerun will air.

It also has a familiar link on the right side of it’s Extras page. ;)

As mentioned yesterday, Top Gear season 10 is available on iTunes for $1.99 an episode.

If you were thinking about buying them but weren’t sure about the quality, etc., then I have good news — you can get the first episode of that season for free via this promotion link. Now of course there are also other methods available for getting the episodes for free, but that’s another story.

UPDATE: TopGear.com has a better quality version.

With under 2 weeks to go until Top Gear returns to the airwaves, promos have started airing on BBC. upyourego was awesome enough to rip one of them for us and here it is:

So much good looking stuff in that trailer! If you’re interested in learning more about what will be in the upcoming season, make sure to check out the spoilers section of our forums.

Top Gear Season 10 Available For Download On iTunes
_____
Posted October 21st, 2008 at 07:39 GMT by Viper007Bond in Top Gear

I’m not sure how long they’ve been available, but season 10 of Top Gear can be downloaded on iTunes for $1.99 an episode. While they are the cut down BBC America versions (about 10 minutes worth of content has been cut and they have different music), this is still a very welcome move by the BBC. As you probably know, Top Gear is not available on DVD and until this point, not officially available for download anywhere that I know of.

So if you’ve been looking for a legal way to download the show, you now have a solution.

Thanks to turbospe and kwings for the tip!

EXCLUSIVE: TopGear.com USA Launches In Under An Hour
_____
Posted October 20th, 2008 at 14:21 GMT by Viper007Bond in TopGear.com

UPDATE: The site is now live. Make sure to check out the welcome video where Andy Wilman encourages people to keep illegally downloading the show (heh). Also take a look at some of the first of their American content. The site is a bit sparse at the moment as it literally just launched, but expect more content over the next few weeks.

In a FinalGear.com exclusive, we’re pleased to announce that the US portal of TopGear.com (site not live as of this post’s time) will be launching in under an hour at 11AM EST. That is of course if it goes to plan and doesn’t end up like the UK portal which launched a week late. ;)

I’ve seen previews of it and like it’s UK counterpart, it looks very, very good. The developers and content creators for the site have been working extremely hard on it for quite a while now and their efforts have paid off. Features include a blog, videos, and best of all — some US-specific content. It should go a long way towards spreading the Top Gear brand here in the States.

Here’s episode 3. Episodes one and two are also available.

And as usual, no rip of Top Gear Australia quite yet, so please be patient.

EDIT: This was the final episode of the three-part series.
