Top Gear Season 2 Torrent Pack Now Available

Posted July 30th, 2008 at 12:34 GMT by Viper007Bond in Top Gear
In my effort to replace all of the individual and hard to maintain individual torrents for old episodes, season 2 of Top Gear is now available as a single pack. If you haven’t watched old Top Gear episodes and are looking for something to do now that Top Gear is off the air, this just may be the solution for you. Plus, watching season 2 along with season 1 is a really good way to see just how far the show has come in the past 5 years.

Top Gear Confirmed To Be Back Third Week In October

Posted July 29th, 2008 at 12:23 GMT by Viper007Bond in FinalGear.com, James May, Top Gear
Forum member robybobey was driving around his town this morning when he spotted James May and Oz Clarke filming a segment for their Oz and James’s Big Wine Adventure TV show.
robybobey managed to get a few moments of James’ time and asked him a few questions. James responded to the false rumors that he was leaving or that he was getting a huge pay raise. He also surprisingly mentioned that he does visit this site from time to time and that he appreciates our criticisms and feedback.
Video of the short interview is here (robybobey had to reask his questions as he didn’t have his camera out the first time around):
Pretty awesome. Major thanks to James for being so cool as well as robybobey for posting the great video!

Next Season Of Top Gear To Have Eight Episodes!

Posted July 28th, 2008 at 22:57 GMT by Viper007Bond in Andy Wilman, Top Gear
During the filming of the American version of Top Gear on Saturday, a few of our forum members got to chat with Andy Wilman. While we already knew that the British version of Top Gear would be back in October, Andy revealed that it would have 8 episodes and that they are looking to do 14 episodes per year to avoid running out of ideas and such.
He also mentioned that while they hadn’t gotten the Top Gear Stuntman right, he would be returning in future episodes.
You can read more about what Andy talked about in MadeBackwards’ thread and buried throughout the tickets thread on our forums.

Adam Carolla Recaps Top Gear America Filming

Posted July 28th, 2008 at 22:42 GMT by Viper007Bond in Adam Carolla, James May, Top Gear America
Adam spent the first 15 minutes of his show this morning talking about the filming of the American version of Top Gear. He covers some things we already knew such as who the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car was, but he also talked about some behind the scenes stuff. Pretty interesting and worth a listen.

The Last Top Gear Of The Season Is Here

Posted July 27th, 2008 at 20:27 GMT by Viper007Bond in Top Gear
Yes, sadly today’s Top Gear is the last of this season (series for you Brits).
However, all is not lost. Later this week I’ll be putting out a torrent for season 2 of Top Gear so you can catch up on your classic Top Gear. Fifth Gear will also be back in about 2 weeks.

Top Gear Gets Another Mention On The Tonight Show

Posted July 24th, 2008 at 02:06 GMT by Viper007Bond in Top Gear
Gillian Anderson was on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night and the subject of Top Gear came up. Turns out she’s a fan of the show as well and was actually invited to be the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car, but couldn’t do it as she was pregnant.
Here’s a clip of the mention (about 3 minutes in):
Hopefully the mention got a couple more people curious about the show.

Andy Blogs About This Coming Sunday’s Episode And Us

Posted July 21st, 2008 at 23:24 GMT by Viper007Bond in Andy Wilman, Top Gear
Andy’s latest blog post came out this morning and besides talking about this coming Sunday’s episode, he made sure to correct all of the conspiracy nuts on our forums.
He starts by addressing the people who posted in our episode discussion thread for last Sunday’s episode complaining that the Diahatsu Terios’ exhaust sound was dubbed over with sounds from a V8:
Firstly, if the boys on Final Gear are reading this - WE DID NOT DUB A BLOODY V8 ON THE DAIHATSU TERIOS. Promise, chaps.
We like to do our best with the Jerry Bruckheimer noises, but we have our standards, and one of those standards is to not upset car dweebs - we like them too much.
I asked the director the same question about the engine when I saw the first cut of the film and he said you can hear the V8 camera car in the background, but the Terios still makes its own rorty little sound.
He also addresses the people who were concerned that we might be being weened off James May since there hasn’t been too much of him this season.
Secondly, if Final Gear boys are still tuned in, one of you wrote a couple of weeks ago that James hadn’t been in the series much, and that we therefore must be grooming the viewers for him leaving. Pleeeeeese. Go and put that fertile conspiracy theory brain of yours to better use. Find out if Kennedy was shot in Dallas, or during a faked moon landing.
I think you’re right, there’s not been enough James and Richard solo films this run - it’s a bit of a Rubik’s Cube putting a show together and that’s the way the cards have fallen. Hopefully we’ll sort it in the next series, but no, James isn’t going. He’ll go when he gets grumpy and fed up with the show, and to my memory he’s been grumpy and fed up with the show since the day he started.
He finishes by talking about this coming Sunday’s episode, but I’ll let you read the details of that for yourself to avoid spoilers.
