Fifth Gear returned today for their 18th season/series.

Ben Collins, who was the main person behind the white Stig until recently, is joining Fifth Gear for at least 5 episodes. He will host segments and in addition perform “Stig-like” roles.

It is believed that multiple people portray the Stig, but Ben Collins has been the main person and the one who sets lap times since 2003 when the black Stig was killed off after Perry McCarthy, who played the black Stig, came out with an autobiography. Ben Collins is now doing the same with an autobiography due out soon.

It is unknown if the white Stig will be killed off and replaced with a third Stig or not.

According to Tiff’s Twitter account (which we’re pretty sure is legitimate), Fifth Gear will be back October 8th.
