This just in and confirmed via Twitter — Fifth Gear will be back on the air June 8th at it’s usual time and place at 8PM on Channel Five in the UK. For those not lucky enough to be able to catch the show on TV in the UK, we’ll of course be bringing you rips of the show not long after.

And for the Fifth Gear haters, let me remind you that Top Gear and Fifth Gear aren’t mutually exclusive. Top Gear may be a more entertaining show by most accounts, but the factual reviews on Fifth Gear are hard to beat.

dogapult is working on getting more dubbed episodes out, but till then we have the latest episode in regular subtitled format that aired on 5th April here. You can discuss the episode on the forums.

Top Gear will be getting an exhibit at the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu, England. Featured cars will include the limos, the boats (part 2), the police cars, the Reliant Robin space shuttle, some double-decker cars, and more!

This is just a quick note to let you know that the site (including the forums) may be offline sporadically over the next couple days. One of the hard drives on our server failed, so we’re only running off one drive at the moment. Backups are currently taking place and we’re moving the site and/or forums to temporary hosting until the new drives arrive on Tuesday. We’ll then reload everything on the server (might as well since it’ll be offline for the drive swap) and we should be fully back online on Tuesday or Wednesday.

dogapult has put considerable time & effort into dubbing an entire episode of Top Gear Russia for us using the work done by the subtitle group, have a look and who knows, it might be easier for those of us who don’t speak Russian.

It’s got mistakes, doesn’t sound amazing, so keep in mind that it’s a first attempt. There’s a sample, normal & high quality version.

The 10th season of Top Gear will be available on DVD here in the US starting on April 21st. It doesn’t contain the Polar Special (that’s available separately), but it does have the other 10 episodes. You can buy it off Amazon.com.

To the best of my knowledge (although I may be forgetting), this is the first time a complete season of Top Gear will be available on DVD, at least here in the US. Even though they’re likely the versions shown on BBC America (slightly shorter with replaced music), this is still an excellent step by BBC Worldwide. A great item to give as a gift to someone you want to get hooked on Top Gear. Infact, I think I’ll be purchasing a couple myself to give to friends.

Although subs were released for this episode already, this is a revised version from our regular crew of subtitlers.
