Based on the Applause Store’s website as well as tickets for filming that members of our forums have received, it’s looking like the first taping for the new season will occur on October 29th. This means that the episode would air the following Sunday, November 2nd rather than the “third week of October” like James had previously stated (that’s probably just when they head back to the studio).

So a bit longer of a wait, but based on various filming sightings that our forum members have made, it should be a very excellent season and worth the wait.

Took a bit longer than expected due to some site issues I had to fix, but Fifth Gear 14×08 is now available. This is a rip courtesy of Moto as there’s no rip from the Scene yet again. Oh well.

Speeds may be less than optimal due to bandwidth having to be spread between both this and Top Gear Australia. Please be patient.

The Scene actually put out a rip of Top Gear Australia while I was sleeping, so that easily solves my problem of which rip to use. You can find a link to the torrent right here. Huge thanks though to all those Aussies that provided us with their own rips though. It was much appreciated!

No sign of Fifth Gear 14×08 yet so we may be using Moto’s rip again. I’m going to push that back for an hour or two though in order to give Top Gear Australia a bit of time to be better seeded.

Opinions of the show are mixed based on the thread on our forums (which has over 200 replies so far), but I think a lot of that is from people comparing it to the very polished and refined UK version. If you judge it as a stand alone show, most people are giving it a decent rating but think it still needs time to get the kinks worked out.

Anyway, no rip quite yet but I know of at least three four different rips that are currently being worked on and uploaded by the rippers. However most people in Australia have horrible Internet connections, so it’ll be a few hours before you can expect to see a rip. Plus with Fifth Gear later today, I may just hit the sack for now (it’s 5 AM here) and then just release both Fifth Gear and Top Gear Australia later today. We’ll see.

UPDATE: Yeah, I’m headed to bed as it’ll be a few hours before most of the rips finish uploading. I’ll go through the half dozen or so different rips later today (around the time Fifth Gear finishes) and figure out which one’s best. Sorry for forcing you to wait, but timezones are murder on my sleep schedule.

James May has a new show called James May’s Big Ideas. The first episode aired today and I thought I’d torrent it up for you all that are outside of the UK like I am. You can download it on Mininova.

In the first of a new series James May travels the globe in search of his ultimate flying machine. He begins by heading into the frozen wastes of Russia to pilot one of the best kept secrets of the Cold War, then James heads to the US to fly the world’s only surviving flying car.

In Japan he watches a man struggle with his tiny chopper, before returning to the suburban gardens of Sussex where James turns himself into a human rocket – all in pursuit of finding a better way to get from A to B.

Finally, in California, James encounters his ultimate dream – a flying car capable of vertical take off, and one so simple that anyone can pilot it, but is the world ready for a flying car?

If you’d like the Scene’s rip of Fifth Gear 14×07 for whatever reason, it’s now available.

Even though we used rips by the Scene when season 10 originally aired, I’ve still gone ahead and torrented up Top Gear season 10 as a single torrent. This should make it easier to keep the torrent alive long term, plus make it easier to download for those who don’t already have the episodes.

Yeah, yet again no sign of a rip from the Scene, so here’s a rip by Moto meanwhile.

Hmm, looks like our static.finalgear.com subdomain that serves all of the site’s images and CSS is down meaning that the site and forums probably look like crap to you right now. Sorry about that, but I’m too big of a server noob to know how to fix it. We’ll have to wait for Quiky to come back to his PC. Hang in there meanwhile.
