More TopGear.com Stuff

Posted October 8th, 2007 at 22:08 GMT by Viper007Bond in Top Gear
TopGear.com has some interesting stuff relating to yesterday’s episode.
The first is a writeup by each of the presenters about their lightweight supercar featured in the search for the ultimate driving road. These articles are from back when they actually filmed the segment earlier this year, but they’re still a good read.
The second is a blog post by Richard entitled “It’s good to be back” about his feelings of Top Gear being back on the air.

Some Updates

Posted October 8th, 2007 at 03:32 GMT by Viper007Bond in Top Gear
Thought I’d cover some commonly asked questions here to avoid them being asked on the forums and the IRC channel.
- No, the episode wasn’t broadcast in HD. It was a one time thing sadly.
- The smaller rip (425MB most likely) will most probably be out Wednesday or Thursday. An explanation as to why can be found right here. This is really only for people on limited bandwidth connections.
Hope you all enjoyed the episode. I know I did!

Tuesday Is The New Monday

Posted October 7th, 2007 at 18:40 GMT by Viper007Bond in Andy Wilman, Top Gear
The uncut version of the news from the soon-to-air Top Gear episode today won’t be out until Tuesday according to Top Gear producer Andy Wilman’s blog post. It took them too long to edit today’s episode, so it had to get pushed back a day. You guys will just have to just watch Fifth Gear tomorrow instead, not that that’s necessarily a bad thing…

Countdown To Top Gear!

Posted October 7th, 2007 at 07:17 GMT by Viper007Bond in FG.com Forums, FinalGear.com, Top Gear
There’s just under 12 hours to go until Top Gear returns for an all new season! Join us on our forums or our IRC chat channel as we countdown the hours!
But please, no asking when a rip of the show will be out. We’ll do our best to get it out as soon as possible and asking will not make it go any quicker. Thanks.
If you’d like to automatically download the rip as soon as it’s out, add our torrent RSS feed to your BitTorrent client. Help and instructions can be found in this forum thread.

Mondays Just Got A Bit Better

Posted October 5th, 2007 at 23:46 GMT by Viper007Bond in Top Gear
Starting this Monday on TopGear.com, you’ll be able to watch an uncut version of the news.
The big headline, then, is the arrival of News Uncut. If you’ve ever been to the studio you’ll know that the news is actually much longer than you see it on the telly, before all the swearing and cock-ups get edited out. Watch it all, uncut, exclusively on TopGear.com every Monday.
Plus, we’ll have blogs from the presenters posted during the day and a proper video trailer showing all the juiciest bits you can expect from your Sunday night telly in the run up to Christmas.
This is just getting better and better…

Hammond Thanks Us For The Helmet

Posted October 5th, 2007 at 09:29 GMT by Viper007Bond in Richard Hammond
During Wednesday’s filming, a member of our forums, robybobey, got to chatting about the helmet with Richard during a break and then posted the following:
Yesterday, during the tea break at the Top Gear filming, I had a little chat with Hammond about the helmet. He said that he was very grateful for it and has signed a photo that I gave him (which is of him wearing the helmet) saying thanks
Check out the photo!

Okay, so he was asked to sign the photo basically, but it’s still pretty cool. ;)
