Tell me about Football (Soccer) Derbies

There not from the same city though, so its not a derby like the Auld Firm is.

Real vs Athletico and Barcelona vs Espanyol are Spains main derbys.

I?ve been to Schalke 04 vs Borussia Dortmund some Years ago ... wich is said to be one of the great Derbies in Germany ... and it was one of the worst Games I?ve ever seen ... security was very tight, the Fans even more drunk than ususal (could have been just because of the poor Game) in wich I tried joined in, and overall I?d have to say it was nothing exeptional. Big talking about it being special, more shouting than ususal ... but really nothing happend (not on the Grass, nor off). Felt like much ado about nothing. But I?m not really a Soccer maniac, I just go to a Game every couple of Years ... so what do I know. :rolleyes: My local Club plays in fourth Leauge, and "thanks" to rather loose security, it can get rather "exciting" at one of their games, rather quickly ... but even there it doesn?t matter if it is a Derby or not.

All in all I wouldn?t give too much about derbys ... that?s more old People talking about "old times" and Soccer-clubs trying to make money of something.
